Nissan Rogue, Pathfinder, And Infiniti QX60 Have A Serious Seat Issue

Nissan and Infiniti dealerships will replace the driver's seat cushion frame if necessary

A problem with the seat rails of certain Nissan Rogue, Nissan Pathfinder, and Infiniti QX60 models in the United States has prompted the car manufacturer to issue a recall for 12,400 vehicles.

Nissan has revealed that the driver's powered seat may not be fully secured to the seat frame on select Rogue, Pathfinder, and QX60 models. This means that the seat frame welds could detach from the rear inboard seat bracket and in the event of a crash, this could lead to injury of the occupant.

The carmaker first received a report related to the issue when a 2023 Rogue was found to have excess movement in the driver's seat. This SUV was found to have a broken weld. Nissan and the part supplier conducted an audit of 22,726 other seat mechanisms and didn't find any others with a poor weld. It was later discovered through an analysis of sub-supplier records that three rails had been identified with the issue, prompting Nissan to conduct tests to determine the performance and safety of the seat rails.

Impacted Nissan Rogue models were built between September 7, 2022 and October 21, 2022, Nissan Pathfinder models involved were manufactured from September 6, 2022 to November 8, 2022, and Infiniti QX60 vehicles being recalled were built from August 29, 2022 to October 31, 2022.

Owners of vehicles with the safety problem will not be alerted to it through any of the vehicle's systems.

Dealers were notified of the recall on April 14, 2023 and owners will be notified from June 10, 2023. Nissan and Infiniti dealerships will check the driver's seat rail clearance to the inboard seat bracket and if required, the driver's seat cushion frame will be removed and replaced free of charge.
