Ford brings back the small pickup truck with the Maverick, which fits below the Ranger in the mighty Ford truck lineup. The Maverick has the underpinnings of the Bronco Sport and a hybrid powertrain that teams a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). 2022 Maverick Lariat is the top of three trim levels, but even it starts under $30,000.

The Lariat comes standard with eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat with power lumbar, plus six-way adjustable passenger seats. That feature is an option on the midrange XLT.

A 6.5-inch instrument cluster is standard on Lariat and part of the FX4 Off-Road package on the XLT.

The Maverick Lariat has a wireless charging pad and two front USB ports.

In addition to a rearview camera, the Maverick Lariat has Ford's Co-Pilot360 technology with such features as lane centering, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.

The screen is 8.0 inches and features Ford's Sync 3 infotainment system.

The Lariat also has a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. Luxurious!

There are cupholders in the back, too.

Rear under-seat storage is a useful feature of the Lariat trim level.

Inside the Maverick XLT.

Maverick XLT has manually adjustable seats in both front seating positions.

Optional on the XLT are power eight-way adjustable driver's seat. The passenger seat remains manually adjustable.

An 8.0-inch centrally mounted touchscreen is standard on the XLT.
