Volvo EX30 presented, which achieves a hundred km in 3.6 seconds and can cover up to 480 km • Mezha.Media

Apr 27, 2023

The company Volvo finally showed its new model Volvo EX30 – this is a compact electric crossover, the second representative of the line exclusively of EX electric cars.

Moreover, the crossover is compact: with a length of 4.23 meters and a wheelbase of 2.65 meters, the new Volvo EX30 is much smaller than the previous company's smallest models, the Volvo XS40 and Volvo C40. But the Volvo EX30 crossover is not going to yield to its "older brothers": a signature design with T-shaped lines in the headlights, wide "shoulders" over the rear wheels, and massive roof racks. Moreover, in addition to the main Volvo EX30 model, the appearance of the Volvo EX30 Cross Country with dark protective overlays and off-road tires is also expected.

In addition, it is already known about the release of several versions of the electric car from the point of view of engines and batteries. The basic option will be the Volvo EX30 with one electric motor (200 kW or 272 hp) and rear-wheel drive. The battery with a capacity of 54 kWh should provide 344 km of mileage according to the WLTP cycle.

If this is not enough, you can order a version with an enlarged battery – 69 kWh promises already 480 km of mileage. And if even more power is required, then it is worth choosing a version with two electric motors and four-wheel drive: a total of 315 kW or 428 hp. should provide acceleration to a hundred/km in 3.6 seconds.

There is a lot of interesting stuff in the interior of the Volvo EX30 electric car.

For example, the new steering wheel with touch buttons attracts attention. Or the lack of a traditional instrument panel next to it. Also, notice how the vertical central display elegantly wraps around the longitudinal line of the front panel. Also, pay attention to the decoration: it looks like a "starry sky" or polished granite.

The new Volvo EX30 is available for production orders starting today. Sales of electric cars will start at the end of the current year or at the very beginning of 2024, depending on the specific market. However, Ukraine should definitely be on the list.
